k after playing for 4 straight days, completing main quest + a couple of their quests chains..

spoilers ahead so w/e


Pros

- totally beautiful env. , esp the night skies
- big world, lots to explore at every nook and cranny
- entertaining npc interactions, either with player or each other

Cons

- Main quest could be longer and even more epic
- some quest lines dont make sense..for example the winterhold college one--I slay some baddies and suddenly I'm the arch-mage? ancano was a joke to kill too
- dragons are easy shit to kill after a while, not challenging enough
- can run into lots of minor glitches, esp if you buy a house (weapon racks, book shelves screwing up, items changing position)

those who believe hype about anything are always doomed to disappointment play it your self (rent from Redbox) and decide if you think it's worth buying on your own I have watched my friends play it and i was not impressed but I'm a pretty picky person you might like it you might not but it's always better to try things like this for yourself.

The first and second episodes of this game are unforgettable and easily one of (if not) the best survival horror games I have ever played.

"Set in the year 2000, Penumbra: Overture follows the story of Philip, a thirty-year-old physicist whose mother recently died. After receiving a mysterious letter from his supposedly dead father, Philip follows a series of clues that lead to him to a mysterious location in uninhabited northern Greenland.[12] The harsh cold forces him to take shelter in an abandoned mine. Unfortunately, the mine's entrance collapses as he enters it, and he is forced to move deeper inside. Within the mine, Philip discovers diary extracts written by a scientist of some sort, who was alone and gradually resorted to eating cave-dwelling spiders as an alternative food source as his supplies diminished."

There's not that many glitches... There's a lot but it's a big game so you don't run in to them too often.

I think it's a great game, but their games are known for their openness and free will. You have to concentrate on what you're doing or you get sidetracked, end up fucking around and then get bored..
